I’m excited to continue working on events and initiatives that connect the unconnected. We have had a real push towards in person gatherings in the last year, and I’m hopeful we can introduce more opportunities to share thought leadership and training programs.

I deeply admire the SF Bay Area ISOC Chapter’s mission of championing Internet access, diversity, and digital inclusion. Ensuring that everyone has access to the Internet—our greatest tool for communication and collaboration—is vital. As a board member, I would like to complement this mission by focusing on an equally critical question: What kind of digital environment are we bringing people into? While access is essential, it is equally important to ensure that the spaces we open are safe, trustworthy, and empowering.
With the rapid rise of artificial intelligence and its potential to amplify misinformation, scams, and malicious activities, I would prioritize fostering safer, more accountable digital environments. Drawing inspiration from initiatives, I would research and advocate for strategies that promote transparency, counteract online harm, and enhance trust. By addressing these challenges, we can ensure that the Internet not only bridges divides but also becomes a space where everyone can thrive.

As a member of the board, I would focus on advancing equitable access to digital resources, with a specific emphasis on underserved communities, including the Indigenous and Black populations within California. I am passionate about addressing the digital divide, supporting policies that promote affordable Internet access, and fostering programs that improve digital literacy and inclusivity. By leveraging my background in digital health and community-oriented technology initiatives, I aim to bring practical solutions that bridge gaps in accessibility, making online spaces available for all users to empower and better themselves.
As a facilitator, I pride myself on being a servant leader that can bring a collaborative approach to ISOC’s work, focusing on initiatives that strengthen community engagement and foster partnerships across sectors. My experience in design, technology, and strategy positions me to contribute effectively to ISOC’s mission of broadening digital inclusion through innovative programs and strategic advocacy. I am eager to help guide initiatives that enhance diversity and support regional policy efforts that will build a more connected, inclusive digital landscape in California./p>
