Internet Day SF

Internet Day SF

Internet Day San Francisco is the third event in partnership with the SF Bay ACM. This time around, we join the world community in celebrating the potential of the Internet. We continue to find inspiration from around the world. This event is our attempt to extend the work done back in Tunis in 2006, when the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS, now UN SDG) pushed for, and I quote:

121. There is a need to build more awareness of the Internet in order to make it a global facility which is truly available to the public. We call upon the UNGA to declare 17 May as World Information Society Day to help to raise awareness, on an annual basis, of the importance of this global facility, on the issues dealt with in the Summit, especially the possibilities that the use of ICT can bring for societies and economies, as well as of ways to bridge the digital divide.

(see agenda here)

So here, and now, in San Francisco California, we will do our best at Internet Day San Francisco to motivate and educate around the current state of the Internet and its potential. From trust to tech, we hope you will join us.
